About Troop 737 Troop Leaders' Message As Scout Leaders, we enjoy watching the excitement in the new Scouts as they learn and develop those skills gained through the Scouting Program. For the bridging Scouts, those coming from Cub Scouts, they have already been introduced those qualities we try to instill in these young men. For boys joining Scouts for the first time, there are many exciting adventures ahead including many skills that need to be learned as they venture through Scouting. Boy scouts has been in existence for more than 100 years and Troop 737 of Diamond Bar/Walnut has been going for over 25 years. The Scouting program is excellent to help young boys develop into men by teaching them the Scout Law, having them learn and perform skills in order to make Rank Advancement, and take on responsibilities to get the job done. We strive to teach the boys the Scout Law which reads, “A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.” As they earn their ranks they perform numerous tasks such as knot tying, cooking, map reading, first aid, and others. This program includes camping outings, which include a week long summer camp, family events such as camping, museums, and/or amusement events. Every three months we hold a Court of Honor where the Scouts are recognized for their achievements. For a young Scout, reaching the Rank of Eagle is truly an accomplishment and signifies that the young man has matured and knows how to set goals and reach them. We are proud that our troop has so many scouts and active adults and that many of our scouts earn the rank of Eagle Scout. This program is truly a benefit to anyone who spends time in Scouting, even the adult leaders supporting Troop 737.
